Overview

Click any element or text on a web page, leave a comment, and copy it as Markdown for Claude Code, Cursor or Codex. Local only.

PointChat is visual feedback for AI coding agents. Click a button, a heading, a sentence or a region of an image on any web page, write what should change, and copy every comment as Markdown that Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or any other agent can act on. Works on localhost, stores everything locally, no account. Instead of "the button on the pricing page looks off", your agent gets the page URL, where the element is (heading path, table row and column, element text, CSS selector) and your note — enough to find it in the source. WHY • Front-end QA and UI review without screenshots and long explanations. • Bug reports and design feedback that point at the exact element. • Review the page you are building: dev servers, file:// and live sites. FEATURES • Hover to target: the word or element under the pointer is outlined before you click. • Click to comment: a comment box opens next to a numbered pin. Enter posts, Shift+Enter adds a line. • Reply in place: hover a pin or a side-panel row to open a reply box; ⌘+Enter (Windows: Ctrl+Enter) sends. Long threads fold to the latest replies. • Select text: comment on a passage; it stays highlighted. • Drag a box: comment on an area of the page or a region of an image (stored in image pixels). • Hold ⌘ (Windows: Ctrl) to see every paragraph, image, button, card and section you can comment on; the pointer snaps to the nearest one. • Shift-click several elements to attach one comment to all of them; the number, card and main location follow the last pick. • Works inside open shadow DOM, not only plain page elements. • Quick comment: with comment mode off and the side panel open, hold Option (Windows: Alt) and click. • Remembers page state: comments made under a tab or dropdown option can switch the page back to it. • Never points at the wrong thing: when a page changes and the original element is gone, the comment is marked "Needs relocation"; pick a candidate or a new element and confirm to rebind it. • Not sure what to change? Ask directly in the comment; the copied instructions tell the agent to answer without changing code for that item. • Side panel: review, edit, resolve and delete all comments on the page; resolve and delete can be undone. • Copy one comment or just its location from a side-panel row, the comment card or ⌘C (Ctrl+C) while hovering. • Copy for Agent: one click copies all open comments as Markdown. Page text is wrapped in fences labelled UNTRUSTED so your agent treats it as data, not instructions. • English and Simplified Chinese interface (Language in the side-panel menu); export and import comments as JSON. HOW TO USE 1. Click the toolbar icon (or press Alt+Shift+C; Mac: Option+Shift+C; or right-click → Comment here). 2. Click an element, select text or drag a box, write your comment, press Enter. 3. Click "Copy for Agent" in the bottom bar or the side panel and paste it into your agent. 4. When it is fixed, mark the comment done. Esc leaves comment mode; hold Alt (Mac: Option) to use the page normally. PRIVACY • Comments stay in your browser's local extension storage. No server, no network requests, no analytics, no ads. • Copied or exported text goes only where you paste or save it. • Tokens, session ids and tracking parameters (utm_*, fbclid, gclid…) are removed from saved URLs. The list is fixed, so check before sharing. • The extension touches a tab only when you turn it on. Site access is requested for one site at a time, only if you choose to show comments there automatically. Comments quote text from the pages you visit; keep prompt injection in mind when you give page content to an AI agent.
