Podsplice Stereo Tab Audio

Connect stereo Chrome tab audio to Podsplice. The recorder requests 256 kbps Opus for its separate System Audio track.

High-fidelity Chrome tab audio for Podsplice recordings. Podsplice Stereo Tab Audio connects the sound from the Chrome tab you choose to the Podsplice V2 Recorder. It is designed for reaction videos, music commentary, tutorials, courses, and demos where the source audio matters. With standard screen sharing, the audio track comes from the source chosen in Chrome's share dialog and its channel count can vary. This extension takes sound directly from the one tab where you click its icon. Your video choice can still be a Chrome tab, window, or entire screen. If a standard shared-audio track arrives in mono, direct tab capture can retain left and right detail when the source provides stereo. What it adds: • A dedicated audio connection from one selected Chrome tab. Choose a tab, window, or full screen separately for the video you show. • Stereo left and right channels when the source and Chrome provide them. The recorder shows the channel count and sample rate it actually receives. • A separate System Audio track in Podsplice, so you can edit the source sound independently from your microphone. • An Opus audio recording with a 256 kbps bitrate request in the Podsplice recorder. Chrome may use a different actual bitrate depending on the browser and recording conditions. Technical details: the extension uses Chrome's tabCapture API only after you click its icon on the source tab. In our Chrome test, the connected track reported two channels at 48 kHz; those values depend on the audio source and browser. Opus is a high-quality lossy format, not a lossless WAV recording. Open the Podsplice V2 Recorder, then click the extension icon on the tab whose audio you want. Confirm that the recorder shows the connected source and its detected audio settings. Start and save your recording in Podsplice as usual. A Podsplice account is required. Click the extension on the actual source browser tab before you start sharing your screen. The video preview inside Podsplice is not the source tab. If you are already sharing and have not started recording, stop sharing, connect from the source tab, then share again for video. The extension does not record automatically or save audio on its own. It connects only the selected tab to the open Podsplice recorder. Other tabs and applications are outside that extension audio stream.
