Podium for Google Meet
Overview
Call on Google Meet participants one by one — random, A-Z, or Z-A order, no repeats. Built for teachers, standups & Q&A.
Podium keeps your Google Meet sessions fair and structured. Whether you're a teacher running Q&A, a scrum master doing standups, or a facilitator managing a group discussion — Podium makes sure everyone gets called on, in order, with no one skipped or called twice. ── HOW IT WORKS ── 1. Join a Google Meet 2. Click the Podium icon in your toolbar 3. Podium auto-detects all participants — no manual list needed 4. Click "Next →" to call on the next person 5. Repeat until everyone has had a turn, then reset for a new cycle ── FEATURES ── ✅ No-repeat cycle — tracks who has been called; you always know who's left ✅ Three ordering modes — Random 🎲, A→Z, or Z→A ✅ Progress bar — see at a glance how far through the group you are (e.g. 5 / 12 called) ✅ Skip participant — skip someone this cycle without losing their place ✅ Per-participant timer — optional countdown (30s, 1 min, 2 min, 5 min) for timed standups ✅ Export session — copy the full call order as CSV for your records ✅ Meet page overlay — a subtle banner appears in Meet showing who's up next ✅ Keyboard shortcut — advance to the next participant with Ctrl+Shift+N (Cmd+Shift+N on Mac), no popup needed ✅ Session persistence — close and reopen the popup mid-session; your position is saved ✅ Settings sync — your preferences sync across Chrome devices via your Google account ── PERFECT FOR ── • Teachers and professors running classroom Q&A or cold calls • Scrum masters and team leads running daily standups • Facilitators managing group discussions or retrospectives • Interview panels rotating questions across candidates • Any meeting where fairness and structure matter ── PRIVACY ── Podium runs entirely in your browser. No data leaves your device. No accounts, no servers, no tracking. Participant names are read directly from the Google Meet page and stored only in your browser's session storage (cleared when you close the browser). Permissions used: • activeTab — to read participant names from the active Meet tab • storage — to save your cycle progress and settings locally • scripting — to inject the participant detection script into Meet ── NOTES ── • Works on meet.google.com only • Participant detection reads names from the visible Meet UI. Opening the People panel in Meet improves detection reliability. • Meet's internal UI can change with Google updates. If detection stops working, please report it via the support link.
