Mark up any web page or PDF with pen, highlighter, notes and comments. Record clickable demos and share them as a link.

Draw on any web page. Highlight a PDF. Leave a comment your colleague can answer. Then record a walkthrough of your app that the other person can actually click through, and send it as a link. Replayink puts a small floating toolbar on whatever you are reading and gets out of the way. Your marks come back when you reload the page. MARK UP ANY PAGE • Pen, text highlighter, rectangle, ellipse, line, arrow • Text labels and sticky notes • Comment pins with threads • Eraser, undo/redo, duplicate, lock, bring to front, box-select, arrow-key nudge • 8 colours on keys 1-8, plus any custom colour, opacity and stroke width Highlights attach to the words, not to a position on the screen, so they survive a reload, a resized window, and a page that rearranges itself. PDFs GET THE SAME TOOLS PDF links open in a built-in viewer with the whole toolbar available, including real text highlighting. A PDF is recognised by its content type as well as its address, so a link with no ".pdf" in it still opens here — and downloads still download. Local PDFs work too, by drag and drop, or directly from file:// once you allow file access on the extension's card. A COLOUR THAT MEANS SOMETHING Red is Important. Blue is Question. Yellow is Key point. Rename them, recolour them, add your own — pick any colour and name it, and it becomes a category like the rest. Everything you draw or highlight is filed under the category of its colour. Press M for the notes panel: every highlight, note and comment on the page, with a live count per category and a search box. Click a row to jump to it. Filter to one category and read only your open questions. Then copy the lot as Markdown, grouped under a heading per category, and paste it into your notes. SHOW SOMEONE, LIVE Presenter mode (Shift+P) gives you a laser pointer, disappearing ink, a spotlight and click ripples for a screen share or a demo. The page underneath stays fully usable. RECORD A DEMO PEOPLE CAN CLICK THROUGH Press Record, use your app normally, press Stop. Every click, every value you type, every choice and scroll becomes a step. What you get back is not a video. It is your app, replayed. Each recorded screen is saved as a real HTML copy — the actual CSS, the real menus and dialogs, the form state as it was — and the elements you used are live. Your viewer clicks them in whatever order they like. Open a menu and its items become clickable the moment they appear. Spinners spin, snackbars slide in, dialogs open, because those are your app's own reactions replaying. There is also a screenshot mode with pulsing hotspots and autoplay, if a simple guided tour is what you want. Three ways to hand it over: • A link anyone can open, with view and completion statistics • A JSON file another Annotate user can import • A numbered Markdown guide for your docs or a support reply Passwords, card numbers and one-time codes are masked before they are ever stored. You can mask everything you type. SHARE ANNOTATIONS WITHOUT UPLOADING ANYTHING "Copy share link" packs your annotations into the link itself. Anyone with the extension who opens it is asked first, before the marks are added to their copy of the page. Nothing is uploaded to make that link — the link is the transport. IT IS YOURS, AND MOSTLY OFFLINE Annotating, PDFs, presenter mode, screenshots and recording all work with no network connection and send nothing anywhere. There is no telemetry, no usage tracking and no advertising SDK in this extension. Your annotations sync between your own Chrome installations through Chrome's own profile sync, which means they pass through Google, not through us. The only thing that is ever uploaded is a recording you explicitly press Publish or Share link on. Before you do that on a site you are logged in to, read section 3a of the privacy policy — a saved page copy can include content that was private to your session. Four shortcuts work even when the toolbar is hidden: Alt+Shift+A shows it, Alt+Shift+C copies a screenshot, Alt+Shift+P grabs the pen, Alt+Shift+F starts presenter mode. WHAT IT CANNOT DO Recording does not capture native browser dialogs, <select> dropdowns, other tabs your app opens, or cross-origin iframes. Saved page copies run no JavaScript of their own, so a button you never used during the recording does nothing. Canvas and WebGL content is captured as a still image. Screenshots need the tab to be visible. Works in Chrome and Edge, version 120 and up.
