Playback Controller

I want to know if there is any hot key to play and pause the song.. Because I usually watch videos and work and when I switch to other application to work I stop the vedio pressing space bar and use hot key alt+tab to switch to other application. And when I am on other application I want the song to play. I cant be going to the extension all the time and click pause and play with my mouse. Is there any hotkey to it or can I set my own hot key?
