Play Aware · Parent Edition
Overview
Review the offline game catalogue with encrypted family records, sourced spending evidence, provider-file imports and parent alerts.
Play Aware is a free tool that helps parents decide about a game their child wants to play. It is a social responsibility project: no fee, no account, no ads. IT ANSWERS THREE QUESTIONS - Is this game right for my child? Finds the game among more than 11,000 built-in records and shows official age labels, content warnings and how well verified the information is. - How will this game ask me for money? Treats spending pressure as its own topic: loot boxes, timed offers, one-tap purchases. You can set a monthly budget per child and record what is actually spent. - What should I do now? Links you to the official help pages for turning on purchase approval, setting spending limits and creating a child account — on the major consoles, mobile operating systems, PC stores and the online platforms children play most. YOUR DATA STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE - No account, no server, no analytics. Nothing you enter is sent to the internet. - No remote code. The game database ships inside the extension. - Not installed on your child's device. It does not watch your child or read messages or screens. - You are never asked for a gaming platform password. - You can encrypt your family data with a passphrase and restore it with a recovery key. - Works without an internet connection after the first launch. DETAILED DECISION PROFILES FOR THE 250 MOST-PLAYED GAMES A 250-game priority list appears first in search. Each one has a hand-written profile: content intensity, online and social risk, purchase pressure, and a single concrete next step for the parent. 50 are detailed profiles and 200 are core profiles, and every card states which level you are reading. Being on the list does not mean a game is verified; evidence level is shown separately. AN HONESTY PRINCIPLE Every fact is stored with its source, its date and the region it applies to. When two sources disagree, both are shown; neither silently overwrites the other. Where there is no evidence it says "unknown" — never "safe". How the confidence score is calculated is explained in plain language inside the product. Verified records show their sources as links you can open, mark which are primary and which are secondary, and list the fields that have not been confirmed yet. Since June 2026, PEGI gives a minimum 16 rating to games that sell paid random items. Older labels predate that rule, so each record states which rule set produced its rating, or says the rule set is not recorded. SIX INTERFACE LANGUAGES Turkish, English, German, French, Spanish and Portuguese. Screen reader labels are translated too. The risk ratings in the decision profiles are identical across all six languages. LIMITS This is decision support, not an official age classification, a guarantee or a device-locking tool. It does not block games or lock phones — it points you to the platforms' own parental controls. Age labels and the way games ask for money change over time; check the current store page before an important decision.
