The plant has leaves that grow close to the base, the leaf blade is broadly ovate or oval, bright green, the surface is slightly wrinkled and has parallel veins radiating from the stem to the tip of the leaf. The leaf edge is intact or slightly wavy, the leaf stalk is long. Plantain is a common herb, often growing wild on roadsides, vacant lots or fields, with the effect of clearing heat, diuretic and supporting the treatment of urinary tract diseases.
