Color Reader - Comfortable Website Themes
Overview
Give any website a comfortable color theme — dark, pastel, sepia, or custom — with brightness, contrast, and font controls.
Color Reader gives every website a comfortable color theme instead of straining your eyes with the default black-on-white layout. THEMES 16 pastel presets (Pink, Rose, Lavender, Blue, Sky, Green, Mint, Cream, Warm, Peach, Yellow, Aqua, Gray), plus Dark and Midnight for night browsing, a warm Sepia reading mode, and a fully Custom theme with your own background, text, link, and heading colors. SMART RECOLORING Instead of flattening a whole page into one color, Color Reader looks at each element's actual color and only recolors plain, default white/black areas — buttons, badges, logos, and brand colors are left exactly as designed. FINE CONTROL Brightness slider, 3-level contrast control, font family (sans/serif/ monospace), and 4 font sizes, all layered on top of any theme. PER-SITE MEMORY Pick a theme once and Color Reader remembers it for that site. Turn on "Apply theme to all websites" to use one theme everywhere, or add sites to an exclusion list so they're never touched. NEW TAB PAGE A themed New Tab page with a clock, Google search box, and quick theme swatches — plus a colored toolbar badge that shows your active theme at a glance. PRIVACY 100% local. No account, no login, no sign-up, no backend server, no external API calls, and no data ever leaves your device. All preferences are stored on-device with Chrome's local storage API.
