No Duplicate Tabs Guardian
Overview
Prevents duplicate tabs by switching to existing tabs and cleaning up duplicate pages.
No Duplicate Tabs Guardian keeps your browser tidy by detecting when you open a page that is already open in another tab. Instead of leaving another copy behind, it switches you to the existing tab and removes the duplicate tab. Features: - Automatically switches to the matching tab when a duplicate page is opened. - Closes the current duplicate tab when another matching tab is already open. - Lets you manually scan all tabs and close duplicate tabs from the popup. - Lets you pause duplicate checking from the popup. - Supports wildcard URL patterns where duplicates are allowed. - Supports common work pages, pull requests, and normal web URLs. - Ignores URL hashes and common tracking parameters. - Runs locally in Chrome. Privacy and permissions: Chrome may show a "Read your browsing history" warning because the extension uses the tabs permission to read the URLs of open tabs. The extension does not request the history permission and does not use chrome.history. URLs are compared locally in Chrome and are not sent to a server. No account is required.
