Overview

Watch YouTube livestreams inside Twitch with stream discovery, live sync, and optional floating chat.

YouTube Player for Twitch Watch a YouTube livestream inside a Twitch channel while keeping Twitch chat and channel controls available. Find a stream The extension checks the streamer's linked YouTube channel, then searches by Twitch channel name. Review the suggested title and channel before playing. You can also paste a YouTube video or livestream link. Playback and layout The extension pauses and mutes the underlying Twitch player. Restore Twitch brings back its original pause, mute, and volume settings. Theatre Mode uses Twitch's wider layout without restarting YouTube. YouTube controls the available playback quality, including 4K/60fps when the source supports it. Sync Sync Now seeks toward YouTube's live edge and briefly requests 2× playback to catch up. Optional auto-sync repeats every 10 minutes. It does not guarantee exact alignment with Twitch messages. Recent streams Restore an active stream after a reload, remember links per Twitch channel, revisit the last five unpinned streams, and pin favorites. Floating chat Optional, read-only Twitch chat over the player, including fullscreen. Move or resize it, adjust the background and text, or enable click-through. Keep normal Twitch chat open to supply messages and send replies. Floating chat is off by default. Additional settings Keep Twitch at Source quality or hide native Twitch player-extension overlays and buttons. Hiding overlays does not prevent those extensions from loading code or making requests. Experimental interruption blocking An optional, off-by-default setting uses bundled TwitchAdSolutions VAFT to filter Twitch advertising segments and request alternate playlists. Changing it reloads Twitch. Disable another VAFT installation before enabling it. Effectiveness depends on Twitch and playback quality can temporarily drop. YouTube playback is separate. Privacy Settings, stream history, and playback state stay in Chrome's local extension storage. The extension has no developer analytics or telemetry. Search and playback make requests directly to YouTube and Twitch, under those services' privacy policies.
