)Overview
Record your screen, window, or tab. Saved locally. No cloud.
PixTape records your screen, a window, or a browser tab and saves the result straight to your Downloads folder as a .webm file. Everything happens on your machine. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no account, no server, and no tracking. What it's for • Capturing a quick bug repro to send to someone • Recording a walkthrough or demo of something on screen • Saving a short clip of a call, stream, or presentation • Any case where a cloud recorder is more tool than you need, or where the content shouldn't leave your machine in the first place How to use it • Click the Pixtape icon • Hit "Start recording" and choose a screen, window, or tab • Hit "Stop" in the popup, or use Chrome's own "Stop sharing" bar • The file downloads automatically when recording ends. Audio is captured when available. Chrome offers it for tabs and for full-screen capture on Windows, but not for individual windows, tick "Share audio" in the picker when the option appears.
