PixelLimit – Screen Time & Focus Timer
Overview
Spend less time online with a visual countdown that gradually turns websites into a photo of what matters most.
Spend less time online with a visual countdown that gradually turns websites into a photo of what matters most. PixelLimit is a different kind of screen-time tool. Instead of suddenly blocking the internet or constantly warning you to stop, it gives you a set amount of browsing time and lets the page slowly transform as that time runs out. Choose a photo of someone, somewhere, or something you would rather spend your time with. As your session progresses, pieces of that image gradually appear across the websites you visit. The effect stays subtle for most of the session so you can keep using the web normally, then becomes more noticeable as your time gets closer to ending. When the session is over, the full image is revealed—a simple reminder that there may be something better to do than keep scrolling. ➤ Start a session that fits your day: - Choose your time: Start with 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours, or set your own custom session length. - Choose what matters: Use one of PixelLimit's included images or add a personal photo of someone, somewhere, or something meaningful to you. - Browse normally: PixelLimit works quietly in the background while you continue using regular websites. - Watch your time disappear visually: As your session runs down, more of your chosen image gradually replaces parts of the webpage. - See the full image at the end: When your time is up, your selected photo becomes the focus of the screen. ➤ Stay in control of your session: - Pause and resume: Pause your session when you need to, then continue from where you left off. - Mini controls: See your remaining time and session progress from a small controller on the webpage. - Hide the controls: Dismiss the mini controls when you do not need them and bring them back from the PixelLimit popup whenever you want. - Restart from zero: Begin the same session again without rebuilding your setup. - Add more time: If you genuinely need longer, extend the current session instead of starting over. - Change your photo: Switch the image during a session without losing your progress. - Exclude websites: Keep selected websites outside your PixelLimit session when needed. ➤ Designed for a gentler approach to screen time: PixelLimit is not meant to make the internet unusable the moment you start a session. The visual effect begins quietly and develops gradually, allowing you to stay productive while still being reminded that your browsing time is passing. The strongest visual change happens near the end, when your chosen image becomes increasingly difficult to ignore. There are no streaks, points, punishments, or complicated productivity systems. You decide when a session starts, how long it lasts, and what you want waiting for you at the end. ➤ Useful for: - Cutting down on mindless browsing - Setting a limit before opening social media or entertainment sites - Staying aware of how long you have been online - Creating focused browsing or work sessions - Reminding yourself to spend more time with family, hobbies, travel, exercise, or other priorities - Anyone who wants a softer alternative to traditional website blockers ➤ Private by design: PixelLimit runs locally in Chrome. Personal photos stay on your device. They are not uploaded to PixelLimit servers, and PixelLimit does not need to see them. No account is required. No cloud photo storage is required. Your session settings and photos remain in your browser. The internet is designed to make it easy to stay a little longer. PixelLimit gives that time a visible ending—and puts something that matters to you on the other side.
