Pixel Overlay
Overview
Compare webpages against reference images with a precise overlay for Chrome and Edge.
Pixel Overlay places a reference design image over any webpage so you can check layout pixel by pixel. How it works 1. Open the toolbar popup and load an overlay from an image URL or a local file (PNG, JPEG, GIF, or WebP up to 4 MB). 2. Toggle Show overlay and adjust Opacity. 3. Unlock position, then nudge with arrow keys (hold Shift for 10 px). 4. Press Esc on the page to clear the overlay. Privacy-first Overlay settings and images are saved with chrome.storage.local on this device. No account. No analytics. No sync server. No remote data collection. Your design files stay local unless you choose a public image URL yourself. Free, local, and built for design QA in the browser.
