Overview

Real-time pitch shifting for web video & audio — change key, not speed. Pro-grade Rubber Band quality, free & open source.

I downloaded a few other pitch-shifting tools, and they either had ads or asked for money. Out of pure frustration, I ordered Claude to build this one. It’s completely free, open-source, and won't cost you a single dime. It was built purely by AI—I didn't write a single line of code. Even the icons are AI-generated. Rubber Band's sound quality is way better than the garbage code they wrote. Here is the intro written by AI: PitchShifter is a browser extension that gives you real-time pitch shifting for web videos and audio: it changes the key without altering the speed, making it perfect for vocal practice, transposing, and transcribing by ear. The pitch-shifting core uses Rubber Band—the exact same engine found in many professional audio programs. Because of this, even a -5 semitone drop (commonly used when guys sing songs originally in a female key) sounds crystal clear and undistorted. Free, open-source, and zero data collection.
