Overview

Waiting on a reply? Track it on any site and get nudged if silence drags on. No inbox access, tracking, or PingBack account.

You messaged someone on Gmail, LinkedIn, a marketplace, a forum, or a support ticket — and then forgot to follow up when they never replied. PingBack works across websites because it takes a deliberately simple approach: it never reads your inbox. Instead, it saves a reminder containing the page, an optional selected message or note, who you are waiting on, and when you want to follow up. HOW IT WORKS • Select text on a webpage, right-click, and choose “PingBack: remind me about this in…” Then choose 2 days, 4 days, 1 week, or 2 weeks. • Or open the PingBack toolbar popup and select “Add for this page.” PingBack prefills the current page title and URL. You can add a person or company name, an optional note, and an exact custom due date. • When the reminder becomes due, PingBack displays a notification with a direct link back to the saved page. • Mark an item “Got a reply” when the person responds, snooze it for later, edit it, reopen it, or delete it. • The toolbar badge shows how many follow-ups are overdue. WHY IT WORKS ON DIFFERENT WEBSITES PingBack does not scrape inboxes, monitor conversations, or depend on the layout of a particular website. It remembers only the page and information you intentionally save. This makes it usable on Gmail, LinkedIn, marketplaces, forums, support systems, and other websites. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No developer-operated servers. • No PingBack account or sign-up. • No inbox or account access. • No analytics, advertising, telemetry, or tracking. • No remote code. • No network requests from PingBack’s own code. • No broad website access permissions. • Reminders are stored using Chrome extension storage. • Chrome may sync reminders between your own devices when Chrome Sync is enabled. PingBack is designed for one purpose: tracking messages or conversations that are awaiting a reply and reminding you when it is time to follow up.
