Pin Notes

Leave feedback on a live page by clicking the spot that needs changing. Notes save themselves and are waiting there next time.

Pin Notes turns vague page feedback into notes that sit exactly where the change belongs. Open any page, click the Pin Notes icon, then click the spot that needs changing and type your note. Each note becomes a numbered pin on the page. Anyone else on your team who opens that page and clicks the icon sees the same notes, in the same places, with the name of whoever wrote each one. They work through the list and tick each one off as they fix it. Next time you open the page, you can see what's been done. HOW IT WORKS 1. Click the icon, or press Alt+Shift+P. 2. Click "Add pins", then click the page wherever something needs changing. 3. Type the note. It saves itself — there is no Send button and nothing to copy. 4. Open the next page and carry on. WHY IT'S DIFFERENT Saving is instant. Your note is kept the moment you type it and delivered in the background, so you never wait for a spinner before moving to the next page. If the connection drops, nothing is lost — it is sent when the connection returns. Pins stay where they belong, on desktop and on mobile. If part of the page is rebuilt, a pin looks for the text it was attached to. If it can't find it, the note still appears in the list rather than disappearing. WHERE YOUR NOTES ARE STORED Pin Notes has no server of its own. Your team sets up its own Google Sheet and Google Apps Script web app, and each person enters that link in the extension's options. Notes go there and nowhere else. The developer has no access to your team's notes and receives no copy of anything. This does mean there is one setup step: someone on your team creates the sheet and shares the link, and each person pastes it into the extension's options along with their name. Until then, the toolbar will say "set up sync". It has no standing access to your browsing. The only address it contacts is your own team's Google Apps Script web app.
