Snapfile — area screenshot straight to file
Overview
Drag to select an area, get a PNG in your Downloads instantly. No editor, no preview, no extra clicks.
No editor to dismiss. No preview to confirm. No account to create. No cloud to upload to. No onboarding tour. Snapfile does exactly one thing: you drag an area, and a PNG lands in your Downloads. Then it gets out of your way. • Release the mouse — it's saved. No "Save" button to hunt for. • Nothing leaves your machine. No uploads, no telemetry, no account — there's no server to send to. • Pixel-accurate on HiDPI displays and at any page zoom. • The UI never appears in your screenshot. • Optional refine mode (resize + Save) is there if you ever want it. How to use: 1. Press Alt+Shift+S (or click the icon) 2. Drag to select an area 3. Release — the PNG is in your Downloads For truly instant saves, turn off Chrome's "ask where to save each file" setting — the welcome page shows you how. One job, done well. That's the whole pitch.
