Watch any video in a floating window that stays on top of everything else, so you can read, type or work while it plays. Open it with one click on the hover bar, with Alt+P, or by right-clicking a video. WHAT THE POP-UP CAN DO • A full player inside the window: progress bar, skip buttons, speed from 0.25x to 4x, and volume up to 300% for recordings that were quiet when they were made. • Subtitles drawn inside the pop-up, where most browsers leave them behind in the tab. No subtitles on the video? Load your own .srt or .vtt file, or drag it onto the window. • Move a subtitle line at a time with Shift and the arrow keys, and press R to repeat the line being spoken until you have it. For a sentence you keep rewinding, or a language you are learning. • A searchable transcript. Click any line and the video jumps there. Save it together with your notes as one file. • Four videos in one pop-up. Chrome allows one pop-up window at a time, so they share it as a grid — tap a pane to give it the sound and the controls. • Picture controls: crop to fill, rotate, mirror, brightness, contrast and colour, and a single frame at a time with [ and ]. • Sound controls: voice clarity for quiet dialogue, night mode, mono for one earphone, left-right balance, and skip silence. • Timestamped notes you can click to jump back to, one-click screenshots, an A-B loop and a sleep timer. WHILE YOU ARE ELSEWHERE • When a video ends the pop-up carries on with the next one, so you open it once and leave it. • Pop out automatically when you switch tabs, and keep playing on sites that pause video the moment you look away. • Resume long videos where you stopped. Speed and volume remembered per site. • The parts you always skip are learned: skip the same stretch on a site three times and the pop-up offers to skip it from then on. • Per-site rules, so a work portal can be left alone entirely. APNE PLAYER Your own files as a playlist, a screen or window capture, or the camera — played in the same pop-up. PRIVACY Out of the box nothing leaves your computer. There is no account and no third-party tracking: your notes, your places in videos and your settings are stored by the browser on this machine. The extension needs access to pages only to find the video and move it into the pop-up. Settings has two switches, both off until you turn them on. One sends an anonymous count of which features get used; the other sends a report when the extension's own code breaks. Neither ever sends the sites you visit, video titles, subtitle text, your notes or your screenshots. LIMITS, STATED HONESTLY • Chrome allows one pop-up window at a time, which is why several videos share one. • On services that protect their video, such as Netflix or Prime Video, the picture cannot be shown in a window the extension builds. Those open in Chrome's own pop-up instead, which can show them. • Volume boost and the sound controls need the browser to let the extension reach the audio. On your own files and most sites it works; where a site keeps its audio sealed, volume stops at 100%. Works in Chrome and Edge 116 and later.
