Copy the text out of any image: a screenshot, a photo of a document, a picture on a website, or a part of a page you can't select. PickText reads it with OCR right in your browser, then you copy it, edit it, or export tables to CSV. Free. No account, no ads, no tracking. ▸ FOUR WAYS TO GRAB TEXT • Right-click any image on a webpage and choose "Extract text from image" • Right-click a page and choose "OCR selected region", then draw a box around the text • Right-click a page and choose "Screenshot & OCR this page" to read what's on screen • Click the PickText icon and drop in an image or browse for one (JPG, PNG, WEBP, BMP, GIF) ▸ 16 LANGUAGES English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Russian, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Korean, Arabic, Hindi and Turkish. Press Auto and PickText picks the language the page you're on is written in. English is built in and works offline. Each other language downloads once, the first time you use it. ▸ BETTER RESULTS ON HARD IMAGES Turn on grayscale, contrast or binarize to help with scans, phone photos and faint or low-contrast text. ▸ CHECK, FIX AND COPY • Words PickText isn't sure of are highlighted in yellow or red, so you know what to double-check, plus an overall score • Edit the text right in the result before you copy it • Copy to the clipboard in one click • Tables are spotted automatically: export them as CSV for Excel or Google Sheets ▸ HISTORY Your recent results are kept in the extension, so you can copy them again later. Keep 10, 25, 50 or 100, delete any one, or clear them all. ▸ PRIVACY Your images never leave your browser: PickText reads them on your computer and sends them nowhere. The only download is a language file from jsDelivr (a public file host), the first time you use a language other than English. No analytics, no tracking, no ads. Your results stay in the extension on this computer. Your settings (default language, image options, history size) are saved with Chrome's sync, so they follow you to other computers if you use Chrome sync. ▸ GOOD TO KNOW • Printed text reads best.
