Overview

Build slicing learning paths in seconds. Batch add, update, and remove songs, and fit thumbnails. Power tools for Piano Marvel.

Workflow tools for Piano Marvel, styled to feel native to the site. Some live in the slicing tool, some on your My Uploads page, and one inside PM's own edit forms. ON THE SLICING TOOL • Auto-Slicer — open a piece with no slicings and a wizard offers to build the whole learning path for you. Pick a style: Hardcore (sweep every chunk size, doubling up — the most thorough list) or Traditional (learn a part, learn the next, then play them joined — the structure Piano Marvel's own editors use). List written-out repeats to skip in either style, and in Traditional mark phrase and section starts so slices land where the music actually divides; choose slice size, direction (forward from measure 1, or anchored to the end for confidence-building backward chaining), pickups, and carry-over — then preview the exact exercise list, with sizing advice, before anything is saved. • Copy slicings from another piece — paste a piece's slicing-tool link (or pick a recent source), choose its Chopped, Minced, and/or Whole lists, keep only the left or right hand for hands-separate learning paths, and decide whether the source's practice BPMs come along. Slices that don't fit the new piece are trimmed automatically. • Delete slicings — wipe a piece's Chopped or Minced list in one confirmed action instead of clicking through per-exercise deletes. A launcher pill keeps the wizard one click away on every slicing page. • Pattern Recognizer — slice a couple of bars by hand and it detects your pattern (slice size, pickup-beat starts, carry-over) and offers to finish the piece the same way. Prefer to check each slice? Turn on step-by-step review: it saves one slice at a time, highlights it on the score, and can apply a correction you make to all the remaining slices. ON MY UPLOADS • Batch Tools — one button opens three modes for working on many songs at once. • Add songs — point it at a folder of MIDI + MusicXML files. Files are paired by filename, titles pre-fill, and you edit everything in one grid: apply shared details (composer, difficulty, tempo, genres, and more) to selected rows, renumber titles with patterns (01, No. 1, Roman numerals, {RH,LH} cycles), then upload one song at a time with a live progress list — stop, resume, or retry just the failures. Optionally drop each folder into a bundle (existing, or created on the fly — even inside a new book) in the grid's order. • Update songs — re-exported your MIDI or MusicXML? Choose a book, a bundle, or one song, point it at the folder, and every file pair is matched to a song you already own, with a dropdown to correct any match. Replacing keeps the song's id, so its bundles, slicings, sharing and all of your students' practice history stay exactly as they are — only the files change. Nothing is replaced quietly: whatever was left untouched is counted and named when the run finishes. • Remove songs — search and sweep-select songs and delete them in one confirmed run. The confirmation lists every title and only arms after you type DELETE; every delete is verified before the next one starts, and the run halts at the first failure. IN PIANO MARVEL'S OWN EDIT FORMS • Thumbnail Fitter — on any Song, Bundle or Book edit form, the Thumbnail field's Browse button becomes "Upload 300 x 330", so the size Piano Marvel wants is never a guess. Drop, pick, or paste a cover; drag and zoom to frame it; choose Crop to fill, Pad white, or Pad blur. The finished image goes straight into the form and Piano Marvel's own Save uploads it — no download step. EXTRAS Set your slicing defaults (style, slice size, direction, carry-over, step-by-step review) on the options page, and flip the whole toolkit on or off from the toolbar button — it takes effect instantly, no reload. Everything talks only to Piano Marvel's own site and API; nothing is sent anywhere else.
