)Overview
A comfortable dark theme for phpMyAdmin. Works on phpMyAdmin 5.x and 6.x regardless of the selected theme.
phpMyAdmin Dark Mode applies a comfortable dark theme to phpMyAdmin, so you can work with your databases without eye strain. ✓ Works on phpMyAdmin 5.x and 6.x — regardless of the selected theme (pmahomme, bootstrap, metro, original) ✓ Always on — no setup, no toggle. Open phpMyAdmin, it's dark. ✓ Smart detection — only activates on phpMyAdmin pages; other sites are untouched. ✓ Covers every part of the UI: the navigation tree, table grids, the SQL editor (CodeMirror), the SQL console, modals, dialogs, alerts, and the database designer. ✓ No data collection, no analytics, no remote code. 100% local. ✓ Open source. The theme is a CSS override layered on top of phpMyAdmin's own styles, so it coexists with any theme and updates gracefully. How it works: - A content script detects phpMyAdmin from the URL and DOM, and only then enables the dark theme. - All overrides are scoped to a single CSS class, so non-phpMyAdmin pages see zero visual change. - A palette of CSS variables at the top of the stylesheet makes it easy to re-skin (see the source repository).
