Photon Media Redirection

Redirects video playback from a browser inside an Accops Photon virtual session to the user's device for smooth playback.

Photon Media Redirection is an enterprise component of Accops Photon virtual desktops . An administrator installs it by policy into the browser that runs inside a Photon virtual session. It is not meant for personal installation. When a YouTube video plays inside the session, the extension passes the compressed video stream and the video's position on the screen to the Photon session host on the same machine. The session host sends it, in real time, to the user's own Photon client, which plays the video on the user's device. The virtual desktop no longer has to decode and re-encode the video. The extension works only with the Photon session host. Without the Accops Photon session host, the extension does nothing visible and has no user interface. Nothing is forwarded and no video content is stored. The extension never forwards encrypted or DRM-protected media. It does not decrypt anything and does not bypass any protection. The extension sends no data to Accops or to any third party. It makes no network requests. It has no user interface. Administrators can set one policy value, suppress ("on" or "off"), which controls whether the browser inside the session keeps decoding the redirected video.
