Phoenix AWR - Java Applets Runtime

Bring Java back to the modern web. Launch Applets, JApplets and Web Start applications with Phoenix AWR, from Java 1.0 to Java 25.

Phoenix AWR is a companion browser extension for the Phoenix AWR desktop application. The extension detects legacy Java content on web pages, including Applets, JApplets, Java OBJECT and EMBED elements, and Java Web Start or JNLP references. When compatible content is found, Phoenix AWR displays an option that lets the user open the current page with the Phoenix AWR desktop runtime. How it works: • Detects compatible legacy Java content on the current web page. • Displays an “Open with Phoenix AWR” option. • Uses the phoenixawr: protocol to send the selected page address to the installed Phoenix AWR desktop application. • Supports pages containing Applets, JApplets, JNLP, Swing, and compatible JavaFX applications. • Works with Phoenix AWR applications designed for Java versions from Java 1.0 through Java 25, depending on the installed runtime and the requirements of each Java application. Important: Phoenix AWR must be installed separately on the computer. This browser extension does not execute Java by itself and does not include a Java runtime. Phoenix AWR is available for Windows, Linux, and macOS. Visit the official MC3D.CL website to download the appropriate desktop installer. Privacy: The extension does not collect, store, sell, or transmit personal information to MC3D SPA. It does not include advertising, analytics, telemetry, or user tracking. The extension examines the current page only to detect compatible Java elements and to provide its launch function. Page addresses are passed locally to the Phoenix AWR desktop application only after an explicit user action. External Java applications and websites launched through Phoenix AWR are independent from MC3D SPA and may have their own security and privacy practices. Users should only execute Java content from sources they trust. Phoenix AWR Standard does not persist downloaded Applets.
