Overview

Restore native mouse-wheel scrolling on websites that hijack it. Defeats JS smooth-scroll, inertia scroll, and scroll-snap.

Normal Scroll gives you back the smooth, predictable mouse-wheel scrolling your browser already does natively — on the websites that take it away. WHAT IT DOES Some sites replace your browser's built-in scrolling with their own JavaScript. They add "smooth" easing, momentum and inertia loops, scroll-snap that yanks the page to fixed points, or they call preventDefault on the wheel so a single notch jumps a full screen. The result is scrolling that feels heavy, laggy, and disconnected from your mouse and your operating-system settings. Normal Scroll detects that behavior and reverts it, so pages scroll at your native, one-to-one speed again — the same way every ordinary web page scrolls. HOW IT WORKS The extension runs before a site's own scripts load and neutralizes scroll-hijacking in layers, so if one approach does not fully catch a page, another still holds: - CSS layer: resets scroll-behavior back to the browser default. - API shim: rewrites smooth scrollTo/scrollBy calls back to instant "auto". - Wheel firewall: catches wheel events that a page tries to cancel and lets your normal scroll through. - Scroll-snap stripper (Pro): removes forced snap points that fight your scrolling. There is nothing to configure to get started. Install it, open a site that hijacks your scroll, and scroll — native behavior is restored automatically. USING IT - Click the toolbar icon for a global on/off switch and to see the current site. - Set any site to Always on, Off, or just for this session. - Add per-site rules when you want different behavior on specific domains. - Open Settings for themes and to manage which neutralization layers run. FREE AND PRO Normal Scroll is free to use. The free tier includes the global toggle, per-site enable/disable, the CSS, API, and wheel neutralization layers, and up to 3 saved per-site rules. Pro is a one-time $99 purchase and adds: - Unlimited saved per-site rules. - Per-domain layer profiles (choose which layers run on each site). - The scroll-snap stripper layer. - Keyboard scroll tuning (scroll distance per notch and modifier-key speeds). - Cross-device sync and ruleset import/export. Pro is a single one-time payment, not a subscription. Upgrade or manage your plan at zovo.one. PRIVACY - No analytics, no tracking, no fingerprinting. - No account or login required to use the extension. - The extension does not read page text, form fields, or cookies — it only adjusts scrolling behavior. - The only network request is an optional license check, made solely when you enter a Pro license key. It sends only the key and receives your plan tier. Counters like blocked smooth-scroll calls stay on your device. PERMISSIONS - storage: saves your on/off setting and your per-site rules on your device. - Content-script access to sites: required to detect and revert scroll-hijacking on the pages you visit.
