PhishPatrol is a real-time phishing detection Chrome extension that leverages a lightweight, on-device AI model to protect users while they browse the web. Powered by a fine-tuned DeBERTa transformer and optimized using ONNX, PhishPatrol scans URLs on visited webpages and sends them securely to a trusted external API for phishing detection. The extension collects only URLs from the currently active tab — no other personal or browsing data is collected or stored. User consent is explicitly requested before any data is transmitted.. The extension not only detects potential threats in under 200 milliseconds but also explains each risk in plain, user-friendly language using Explainable AI (XAI), helping users make informed decisions.
