Overview

Quietly scores URL structure and progressively warns about unusual, high-risk, and potentially fake-login destinations.

Phishing Domain Inspector is a privacy-focused browser extension that makes link destinations easier to evaluate without interrupting ordinary browsing. Normal links stay silent. Caution-level links show a delayed tooltip near the cursor, high-risk destinations show a compact red top banner after navigation, and only extreme fake-login patterns receive a full-page stop. The extension follows progressive interruption and distinguishes between: - Known domains and ordinary unfamiliar links, shown with no page decoration - URLs requiring caution, shown in an amber cursor tooltip after a short hover delay - High-risk URL structures, shown in a non-blocking red top banner - Extreme randomized brand-impersonation links, including those with sensitive forms, stopped by a full-page interstitial Checks include boundary-safe known-domain matching, HTTPS use, IP-address hostnames, punycode, URL shorteners, elevated-risk domain endings, excessive subdomains, brand impersonation, misleading username syntax, unusual ports, embedded redirect destinations, very long URLs, and long or high-entropy path and query tokens. Supported Google, Gmail, and Outlook Safe Links redirects are unwrapped when an embedded destination is available. Additional domains can be marked as known and are saved locally in browser storage. All analysis is performed locally from the URL. The extension does not use WHOIS, DNS lookups, reputation services, analytics, advertising, or external APIs, and it does not transmit browsing activity. Important limitation URL analysis can identify suspicious structure, but it cannot prove that a website is safe or malicious. A known-domain result is not a guarantee of safety, and a warning is not proof of phishing. Verify sensitive requests through an independent trusted channel. This tool is used as complementary for other security extensions or tools to help user detect the phishing website faster and better.
