Peter Joseph Reply Helper is an independent, unofficial Chrome extension for preparing user-selected social-media material for a manually controlled Custom GPT reply-drafting workflow. It supports individual YouTube, X, Reddit and Facebook posts. After the user presses Capture, it reads the selected page's visible post content, relevant metadata, quoted or shared material, media indicators and available caption or transcript resources. When a video has no usable complete English caption track, compatible desktop Chrome installations can retrieve the selected platform's directly available media/audio resource and process it locally with Chrome's built-in on-device multimodal AI. Decoded audio is covered in 20-second core windows with 2-second overlap, and every planned window must be processed before the transcript is marked complete. This method processes media data rather than waiting for the page video to play from start to finish. The extension can: * capture visible text and metadata from an individual supported social-media post; * retrieve complete available platform captions and YouTube transcripts; * translate a complete non-English caption track to English locally where Chrome supports it; * use on-device direct-media audio transcription when captions are unavailable and compatible hardware supports it; * distinguish original post content from quoted or shared content where exposed; * flag when relevant images should be attached separately; * include a manually supplied reply target and surrounding thread context; * combine the source material, transcript, master prompt and user's reply context in one clipboard package; * open the user-selected Custom GPT for manual pasting; and * copy fourteen follow-up instructions covering summaries, claim-by-claim replies, factual, technical, Integral, satirical and more forceful modes. Some optional follow-up modes intentionally request rude, profane or savage satirical language. They are activated only when the user chooses the corresponding follow-up control and retain factual-grounding, protected-trait and no-threat safeguards. Automatic transcript methods prefer complete source-platform captions. If those are unavailable, the extension may use local caption translation or locally process directly available media/audio. It never uses full-duration normal-speed page-playback transcription or a browser speech-recognition service. Facebook may be activated muted for less than one second solely to expose caption or direct-media resources, after which the previous player state is restored; no transcript is collected from that playback. On YouTube, a fallback may use the already-open page's current signed-in session solely to request direct media belonging to the selected video. Authentication-cookie values and generated session headers are handled transiently, are not stored or included in diagnostics, and are never sent to the extension developer. Chrome may require a one-time browser-managed on-device model download and compatible hardware. Captions, translations and AI-generated transcripts can contain errors, so important quotations should be checked against the original source. Settings and drafts are stored locally in Chrome. Direct media/audio is held temporarily in browser memory and is not intentionally retained. The extension has no developer-controlled server, analytics, advertising, automatic posting or account system. Users decide what to capture, edit, copy, attach and manually submit elsewhere. The name “Peter Joseph” is used descriptively to identify the intended perspective and optional Custom GPT destination. The built-in prompt is a project-authored synthesis and is not represented as Peter Joseph's own wording.
