Perplexity Exporter
Overview
Export Perplexity.ai threads to HTML, Markdown, Notion, or Obsidian.
PERPLEXITY EXPORTER: - Perplexity Exporter is a Chrome extension that allows you to extract conversations from Perplexity.ai and save them to local files, Obsidian, or Notion. - When researching complex topics on Perplexity, manually copying and pasting threads often results in broken formatting, lost tables, and disconnected source links. This extension automates the archiving process. It captures the initial query, the AI's response, follow-up questions, and all cited sources, formatting them accurately for your preferred note-taking or knowledge management system. WHY INSTALL PERPLEXITY EXPORTER? - Preserve Formatting: Accurately retains structural elements like tables, code blocks, bulleted lists, and text emphasis. - Keep Citations Intact: Automatically extracts all external references used by the AI and compiles them into a clear list of sources for each exchange. - Save Time: Replaces manual copy-pasting with single-click downloads and automated API syncing. - Backup Your Research: Provides an easy, automated way to archive your chat history locally or in your personal workspace. CORE FEATURES: - In-Page Action Buttons: Adds a floating download and sync button directly to the bottom corner of Perplexity thread pages for quick access. These can be disabled in the extension settings if you prefer a minimal interface. - Smart Notion Synchronization: Connects directly to your Notion workspace via their API. It converts the conversation into native Notion blocks. If you ask follow-up questions in a thread you have already synced, the extension detects this and only appends the new exchanges to your existing Notion page, preventing duplicates. - Bulk Export: To back up your history, open the extension popup while viewing your Perplexity history sidebar to export your last 5, 10, 20, or all visible threads at once. The extension processes them in the background and provides a single ZIP archive containing your documents. - Local Processing & Privacy: The extension runs entirely locally in your browser. There is no telemetry, no analytics, and no intermediary servers. If you use the Notion integration, your data is sent directly from your browser to Notion's API. - Completely Free: All features, including bulk export and Notion syncing, are completely free to use. SUPPORTED EXPORT FORMATS: - Markdown: Standard text formatting suitable for Logseq, Roam Research, VS Code, or any plain text editor. - Obsidian: Formatted specifically for Obsidian vaults, automatically prepending YAML metadata (title, date, source URL, and tags) to the top of the file. - HTML: A clean, styled standalone webpage. This format is ideal for sharing research with colleagues who do not use text editors, or for printing directly to PDF. - Notion: Direct integration to push structured content (Headings, Paragraphs, Code Blocks, and Lists) to a designated Notion page. GETTING STARTED WITH NOTION: - Standard file downloads work immediately upon installation. To use the Notion sync feature, you will need to complete a brief setup: - Create a free Internal Integration in your Notion account to get an Integration Token. - Copy the Page ID of the Notion page where you want to save your threads. - Add the new integration to your target page via Notion's connections menu. - Paste the Token and Page ID into the Perplexity Exporter settings. - Detailed instructions are provided in the extension's built-in User Guide.
