Overview
Tracks permission data in the background. View your dashboard at permissiontrail.co.uk.
Permission Trail is the official Chrome extension for permissiontrail.co.uk — a privacy dashboard that shows what data websites store in the browser and gives users full control over it. 🔍 What it does • Automatically logs when websites store data such as cookies, local storage, session storage, IndexedDB, CacheStorage, service workers, and form data. • Syncs this information securely with the Permission Trail dashboard at permissiontrail.co.uk. • Displays each site's trackers, data types, and a calculated trust score. • Allows users to revoke or bulk delete stored website data directly from the dashboard. • Includes an Excluded Websites mode, letting users mark trusted sites so they are ignored by tracking and not logged in the dashboard. • Updates in real time as the user browses — no manual refresh required. 🧠 Why use it Browsers store data for nearly every site visited, often without the user noticing. Permission Trail brings transparency, showing exactly what’s being stored and allowing users to clear it instantly. With exclusions, users can keep their dashboard focused only on the sites they care about. ⚙️ Requires a Permission Trail account Log in at permissiontrail.co.uk to view the dashboard, manage revokes, configure excluded websites, and review privacy insights across all browsing sessions. 🛡️ Privacy-first design The extension collects only the storage and permission data required for the dashboard to function. No personal information, browsing history, or identifiable data is sold or shared with third parties.
