Permission Scanner audits all installed extensions and apps, analyzing their permissions, and provides quick risk score assessment.
This extension audits installed Chrome extensions, apps, and themes. It analyzes their requested permissions and provides a risk assessment. Features: * Permission Audit: Scans all installed extensions, apps, and legacy apps. * Risk Assessment: Assigns a color-coded risk level to each permission and overall "risk score" based on all extensions. * 🟢 Green (None): The extension requires no special permissions. * 🟡 Yellow (Low): Low-risk permissions. * 🟤 Brown (Medium): Medium-risk permissions. * 🔴 Red (High/Critical): High or Critical-risk permissions. * Detailed Views: * View permissions requested by each extension. * View extensions that request specific permissions. * Compare your risk score with aggregated anonymous user data. * Privacy: Requires the "management" permission to access your extensions list. It does not access sensitive personal information. * Access & Customization: * Open the scanner from the toolbar icon or keyboard shortcut (`Alt+Shift+S` / `Cmd+Shift+S`) by default. * Option to change the extension icon (default, red, green, orange, beige, or custom upload). * Option to open results in a new tab or the current tab. * Comes with a quick start guide and options page includes more help resources. Purpose: Permissions can indicate potential risks. This tool helps you: * Identify extensions with broad access. * Understand individual permission implications. * Compare current browser to others.
