Overview

Copy your frequently used text with keyboard shortcuts.

C:V — Copy your go-to text with a keyboard shortcut. Still typing the same text over and over, or jumping between tabs to find something to copy? Save your go-to greetings, replies, and email templates in C:V. When you need them, copy them with a number-key shortcut and paste them wherever you like! ■ What you can do with C:V • Save up to 100 text snippets: 10 lists with 10 snippets each. • Organize your snippets into lists for different tasks and situations. • Save selected text from a webpage with a keyboard shortcut. • Copy saved snippets without opening the popup. • Reorder lists and snippets with drag and drop. • Get started without an account. Your saved content stays in your current Chrome profile and is not sent to an external server. ■ Getting started 1. Click the C:V icon in the Chrome toolbar to open the popup. 2. Open “Manage lists”, create a list, and select the list you want to use. 3. Use the “+ Add” button at the bottom to save your go-to text. 4. On a webpage, press Shift + a number to select a list. 5. Press Alt + a number to copy a saved snippet, then paste it where you need it with Ctrl + V or Command + V. To edit or delete a snippet, use the more menu (⋯) next to the item. ■ Keyboard shortcuts at a glance • Select a list: Shift + a number • Copy a saved snippet: Alt + a number • Save selected text from a webpage: Shift + Alt + a number • Paste: Ctrl + V / Command + V on Mac • Open the popup: Ctrl + B / Command + B on Mac On Mac, use Option instead of Alt. Numbers 1–9 correspond to positions 1–9. Use 0 for position 10. For example, create your first list, then press Shift + 1 on a webpage to select it. Highlight the text you want to save and press Shift + Alt + 1 to save it as the first snippet. Later, press Alt + 1 to copy that snippet again. Note: Select lists and copy snippets while your cursor is outside a text field or editor. To paste, click the text field you want to use, then press Ctrl + V or Command + V. Note: Webpage shortcuts are unavailable on pages where extensions cannot run, such as Chrome settings pages. If shortcuts conflict, check the popup shortcut in Chrome’s extension keyboard shortcut settings. ⚠ IMPORTANT — PLEASE READ • Do not store personal information, passwords, verification codes, API keys, or other sensitive information. C:V is not designed for storing confidential information. • Saving new text to a position that already contains a snippet replaces the existing content. Check the selected list and number before saving. • Uninstalling the extension, deleting its data, or deleting your Chrome profile can delete your saved content. There is no separate backup or recovery feature, so keep a copy of important text elsewhere. • When updating from the legacy version, previously saved content is not migrated automatically. Keep a separate copy of any snippets you need before updating.
