EAL Translate

Drop a Word, PowerPoint or Excel file and get it back in a pupil's home language, laid out like the original.

EAL Translate is for schools. It turns worksheets, knowledge organisers and slides into a pupil's home language in seconds, laid out like the original, so pupils who are new to English can follow the lesson. HOW IT WORKS • Click the EAL Translate button to open the side panel. • Tick the languages you need. Your school's most common home languages are one click away, with over 50 more to choose from. • Drop in a Word, PowerPoint or Excel file. A translated copy in each language is saved to your Downloads folder, usually in under 30 seconds. IT KEEPS THE LAYOUT Tables, pictures, text boxes and slides stay where they were. Arabic, Urdu, Farsi and other right-to-left languages run right-to-left. English key words can stay in brackets, so pupils learn the subject vocabulary too. MORE FROM THE SAME FILE • A Simple English version of the document. • An EAL pack: a printable Word pack in the pupil's language with key words, side-by-side text, match-up cards, gap-fill, a quick quiz, a writing frame, words to learn and a teacher answers page. FOR SCHOOLS EAL Translate is a school subscription from Forge Class Software Ltd, for every member of staff. Your IT team sets it up once for all staff by Chrome policy, so teachers never sign in. Try it free for 30 days at forgeclass.co.uk/eal-translate. PRIVACY Documents are translated and sent straight back; they are not stored. No pupil data is needed, and staff are counted anonymously in the school's usage report. Translations are made by AI. Check important documents with the pupil or your EAL lead.
