Route Weather

Weather along your route, or at a place you click on the map, in the Komoot and Strava planners. No account, no fees, no tracking.

See the forecast for the actual ride, not just the map around you. Route Weather is a free, unofficial extension that reads the route you are planning in Komoot or the Strava Route Builder and shows the weather along it at your estimated time of arrival. The panel gives you a quick summary — temperature range, any rain window, and the strongest headwind — plus a scrollable strip of samples and matching markers on the map. Route Weather works with: - **Komoot** — blank planner and saved-tour editor - **Strava Route Builder** — blank route and saved route editor (a signed-in Strava account with route-creation access is required) What you get: - Weather sampled by time, so a climb late in the ride is not shown as if you were there now - Temperature, feels-like temperature, precipitation amount and chance, conditions, wind speed and direction, gusts, and headwind/tailwind/crosswind - A summary of the ride: temperature range, rain window, strongest headwind - Marker bubbles with the sample's time, temperature, weather symbol, precipitation, wind and distance, without growing the side panel - Weather symbols in the timeline strip, with the full condition text on hover and in accessible labels - Metric or imperial units, the planner's estimated duration where available, or your own average speed (Strava always uses your average speed) - Configurable sampling interval and a sample cap that keeps requests small - Markers that follow pan, zoom, rotation and pitch, and survive style reloads What it is not: - No account, sign-in, subscription, ads, analytics or data collection - No route uploads or edits - Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Komoot or Strava - Not for safety-critical decisions Forecasts come directly from Open-Meteo under CC BY 4.0. The extension sends only the coordinates of route sample points, their elevation when the planner provides it, and the ride time window. No account, device, installation or advertising identifier is sent. Settings stay on your device; route and weather data are not kept as history.
