Lost tabs after a crash, an update, or one wrong click? Tab Black Box quietly snapshots your windows, tabs and tab groups so you can restore them. It also writes a rolling backup file to your Downloads folder, so your history survives even if the browser wipes extension data. Restored tabs open in new windows and never close your existing tabs. MASS-CLOSE PROTECTION When many tabs close at once, Tab Black Box records a protected "mass close" snapshot of what was open just before, so one wrong click or a crashed session cannot wipe out your work. Mass-close snapshots are kept for at least 7 days. LOCAL-ONLY BACKUP FILE Besides its own storage, the extension keeps a rolling backup file at Downloads/TabBlackBox/tab-backup.json. It is updated at most hourly, only when something changed, and right after a mass close. You can also export on demand, keep timestamped copies, and import a backup file. The file stays on your computer. Nothing is uploaded anywhere. PRIVACY BY DESIGN - No host permissions: the extension cannot read or change the pages you visit. - No accounts, no cloud sync, no analytics, no ads. - Your tab history never leaves your computer.
