PDF Desk by Gabba Works does everyday PDF jobs inside your browser. Your files stay on your device and never go to a server. You open, change and save them on your own computer, and you don't need an account. Free, with no watermark, no account and no paywall after you've done the work. Every tool works on one PDF at a time: • Sign: draw or type your signature or use an image of it, place and resize it, add today's date or a line of text, and save your signature for next time • Fill existing PDF forms: text fields, checkboxes, radio buttons and dropdowns. Then make the fields uneditable if you like • Combine several PDFs into one, split by page ranges, and reorder, rotate or delete pages • Compress a PDF (lossless re-save, or smaller JPEG images) • Password-protect a PDF with AES-256, or unlock one you have the password for • Add a watermark, page numbers, a header or a footer • Turn PNG/JPG images into a PDF, or save PDF pages as images • Saves a new copy: your original file is never changed Pro: coming soon. Batch processing (many files in one pass), saved templates, profile autofill, English OCR (searchable PDFs) and white-out-and-retype are planned as a paid upgrade. They aren't for sale in this version and nothing is charged. These tools are marked and locked before you start, so you never hit a paywall after doing the work. Privacy • All PDF work happens on your device with libraries bundled in the extension (pdf.js, pdf-lib, qpdf). Your files never go to a server, and there are no analytics, ads or tracking • Opening a PDF from a tab: if you click the PDF Desk toolbar button while a PDF is open in a tab, PDF Desk downloads that PDF straight into the workspace (up to 30 MB, without your cookies). Otherwise, choose or drop a file • Passwords are kept in memory and never stored. Saved signatures are encrypted in your browser; delete them any time in Saved data Honest limits: PDF Desk can't edit or delete text that's already in a PDF, or create new form fields. Merging or splitting flattens form fields, so fill in your forms before you merge or split. Compression helps most on PDFs with large JPEG images; if it can't make a file smaller, it keeps the original. Some XFA forms need specialized software. PDFs with author-set editing restrictions cannot be opened yet; you can still view and print them in your browser. Digitally signed PDFs show a warning: saving a changed copy invalidates the existing signature, and PDF Desk asks before saving a copy. Typed text currently supports Latin, Greek, Cyrillic and Vietnamese characters; Hebrew, Thai, Hindi, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese and Korean are planned for upcoming versions.
