Open the PDF you are viewing in the PDF Clay editor. Edit real text, keep the original font.

PDF Clay edits the real text inside a PDF — click a word, retype it, and the original embedded font stays. This extension is the fastest way to get there from Chrome’s built-in PDF viewer, which can show a document but cannot change a character. How it works 1. Open any PDF in Chrome (a link ending in .pdf, or a local file). 2. Click the PDF Clay toolbar icon — or right-click a PDF link and choose “Edit in PDF Clay”. 3. The PDF is uploaded to pdfclay.com and opens in the editor, ready to change. What this extension does • Reads the PDF you asked it to open (current tab or a link you right-clicked) • Sends those bytes to PDF Clay’s own servers over HTTPS • Opens the editor in a new tab What it does not do • No ads inside the extension • No analytics or trackers • No content scripts — nothing is injected into other websites • No stored history of documents or URLs after the editor opens Local files To edit a PDF opened from disk (file://), turn on “Allow access to file URLs” on the extension’s details page in chrome://extensions. The extension will explain this if the setting is off. Limits Uploads follow the same rules as the website (currently 50 MB per file).
