ShortBlock
Overview
Blocks TikTok and YouTube Shorts. Parental control — PIN required to toggle.
ShortBlock is a parental control extension that blocks YouTube Shorts and TikTok — the two most addictive short-form video platforms — while keeping regular YouTube and the rest of the web working normally. It is a hard kill switch, not a time limit. When it is ON, Shorts and TikTok are completely blocked. When a parent enters their PIN and slides it OFF, everything works normally again. WHAT IT BLOCKS - YouTube Shorts — blocked in the feed, the Shorts tab, and any direct /shorts URL - TikTok — entire domain blocked in Chrome - Works even when kids navigate inside the YouTube app without a full page reload PIN PROTECTION - Children cannot toggle the extension off — a parent PIN is required - A recovery code is generated at setup in case the parent forgets their PIN - Changing the PIN generates a new recovery code automatically FOR PARENTS - Install once, set a 4–8 digit PIN, done - To use Chrome normally: click the SB icon, enter PIN, slide toggle OFF - Slide back ON before children use the PC - Free companion installer (Windows and macOS) blocks Firefox, Brave, Edge and Opera from accessing the internet entirely — children cannot bypass ShortBlock by switching browsers No subscription. No account required. No data collected. Free forever.
