Overview

A growing toolkit of small browser utilities.

Code Tools is a growing toolkit of small, focused browser utilities, all behind a single toolbar icon. One install, several tools — no clutter, no accounts, no tracking. WHAT'S INSIDE • JSON Formatter — Auto-detects raw-JSON pages and replaces them with a pretty-printed, collapsible tree. Includes per-origin opt-out and a 1 MB size guard with a manual "Format this page" fallback for larger payloads. • Clear Cache — Wipes cache, cookies, localStorage, IndexedDB, and/or sessionStorage scoped to the active tab's origin. Each data type is individually selectable. Optional post-clear reload. • Password Generator — Crypto-secure passwords using the browser's crypto.getRandomValues. Adjustable length, character-class toggles, ambiguous-character exclusion, one-click copy, and persisted settings. • Cookie Editor — Lists every cookie for the active tab. Add new cookies, edit existing ones (including name, domain, and path), or delete them — all from the popup. WHY YOU MIGHT WANT IT • One extension, multiple tools. Replaces a handful of single-purpose extensions with one tidy popup. • Local-only. Nothing leaves your browser. No analytics, no remote calls, no account. • Manifest V3. Built on Chrome's current extension platform — no deprecated APIs. • Open and inspectable. The source is plain ES modules with no runtime dependencies. PERMISSIONS, EXPLAINED • storage — remembers tool settings (e.g. password generator preferences) between popup opens. • browsingData — used by Clear Cache to clear data for the current origin. • cookies — used by Cookie Editor to read, edit, and delete cookies for the active tab. • tabs / scripting — lets the popup target the active tab and run the JSON formatter on demand. • clipboardWrite — used by Password Generator's one-click copy. • host permissions <all_urls> — required so the JSON formatter can detect raw-JSON responses on any site you visit. Code runs locally; nothing is transmitted. MORE TOOLS COMING Code Tools is designed to grow. Each utility is a self-contained module, so new tools land without disturbing the existing ones.
