Download, copy or translate ★ WHY IT WORKS WHERE OTHERS DON'T Captions are read in your own browser, on your own connection. Server-based tools often get blocked by YouTube — UrlToSub doesn't depend on them. ★ WHO IT'S FOR Students saving lectures as text · language learners · creators and podcasters reusing their videos · editors · researchers · anyone who needs a transcript or translation of a YouTube video. ★ NEW IN 0.2.7 - Free translations — no license needed - Plain-text download and one-click copy - Cleaner .SRT files with no overlapping lines - You see before clicking if a video is too long for a free translation - Clearer messages when something goes wrong ★ PRIVACY Your video and audio are never touched — the extension only reads the caption text a video already has. Beyond what's needed to show and enforce free-tier limits, we only receive the caption text you choose to translate (never stored) and your answer to one optional question on the welcome page.
