Overview

One-click cache and storage clearing. Profiles, shortcuts and per-origin clearing. Built for everyone, tuned for developers.

🧹 Cache cleared. Sanity restored. One click clears the site you're on (cache, cookies and storage) and reloads the tab, so you're looking at the fresh version. Every other site stays logged in. 😩 THE OLD WAY You shipped a fix, but the page still shows yesterday's version. Or a site is acting up and the advice is always the same: "clear your cache". So you open Chrome's settings, dig into Privacy and security, open the browsing-data dialog, pick a time range, tick the boxes and confirm. Then you go back to your tab and reload. And because that dialog works on every site at once, you've just been signed out of your email, your dashboards and every other tab you had open. ✨ THE CACHESWEEPER WAY Press Ctrl+Shift+X (Cmd+Shift+X on Mac) or click the toolbar icon. CacheSweeper clears just the site you're on and reloads the tab, and a small summary card shows what was removed and how much space was freed. Everything else stays exactly as it was. ⚡ THREE WAYS TO CLEAR • Keyboard: Ctrl+Shift+X (Cmd+Shift+X on Mac). You can change it at chrome://extensions/shortcuts • Click the CacheSweeper icon in your toolbar • Right-click the toolbar icon for Clear Cache Now, profile switching and settings 🛠️ MADE FOR THE MOMENTS YOU NEED IT 🚀 You deployed, but the browser keeps serving the old CSS or JavaScript bundle 🔐 A login is stuck in a loop and you want fresh cookies for one site, not a sign-out everywhere 🧪 You're testing a first-run or onboarding flow again and again, and localStorage keeps remembering the last run 📦 A service worker keeps handing back an old build (Premium unregisters it and hard-reloads without the cache) 🧾 A form wizard or checkout keeps restoring half-finished state from sessionStorage (Premium) 🛒 A shopping cart, image or page layout looks broken and a fresh start usually fixes it 🗓️ You simply like a tidy browser, on a schedule you choose (Premium) 🎯 ONLY THE SITE YOU'RE ON Per-origin scope is on by default: a clear touches only the current site, so your other logins and data stay put. Want a full sweep instead? Switch per-origin scope off and CacheSweeper clears every site at once. ✅ FREE, FOR GOOD 🗄️ Clears the HTTP cache, cookies, localStorage, IndexedDB, CacheStorage and the origin private file system, each with its own switch 🔄 Reloads the tab after every clear (you can turn it off) 📊 A summary card on the page after each clear: the types removed, cookies counted and space freed, measured by the site's own storage report ✋ Optional confirmation before a clear you start (automatic clears don't ask) Keep the sites you never want signed out of. Their cookies, cache and storage are skipped by every clear, including the automatic ones. 👤 Two ready-made profiles: Default for every site, and Localhost for local dev servers 🕘 Optional: browsing history, download history and autofill data, the same items as Chrome's own list (off by default) 🛡️ sessionStorage is left untouched on the free tier, even though Chrome's own localStorage removal would quietly wipe it in your open tabs 💎 PREMIUM: DEEP CLEAN AND AUTOMATION ($3 a month or $29 once) 🧼 sessionStorage, cleared properly sessionStorage holds tab-level state: multi-step forms, checkout progress, one-time tokens, the "which step was I on" data. Chrome's browsing-data dialog and its data-clearing API have no sessionStorage option, so tools built only on them can't reach it. CacheSweeper Premium clears it inside every open tab of the site, without closing a single tab. ⚙️ Service workers and hard reloads Unregister the site's service worker, not just its cache, and reload without the HTTP cache so the next load is truly fresh. ⏰ Clearing on autopilot Clear on a timer (every 30 minutes up to once a day), when Chrome starts, or when your computer has been idle for 5 minutes. Or clear a site automatically the moment you close its tab. ⏳ Time range Clear only the last 15 minutes, hour, day, week or month, or everything. 🔒 Protected domains Keep the sites you never want signed out of. Their cookies, cache and storage are skipped by every clear, including the automatic ones. 🗂️ Unlimited profiles Create a profile per project or environment (localhost, staging, production) and CacheSweeper switches to the right one by domain. Export them to a file and import them on another machine. 📈 Metrics dashboard See how much data you've cleared, how many cookies were removed, and your recent clears by trigger. 🔑 Getting Premium Buy a license key through Lemon Squeezy, paste it on the Premium tab of the settings page, and you're done. No account to create. Each key works on up to three browsers. 🔐 PRIVACY, PLAINLY • Runs locally in your browser • No ads, no analytics, no tracking, no account • The only network request CacheSweeper makes is checking a Premium license key with Lemon Squeezy • Passwords are never touched • Cookie contents are never read: CacheSweeper only counts them for the summary ❓ QUICK ANSWERS Will it sign me out of everything? No. By default it clears only the site you're on. What does the free version include? All the core clearing: cache, cookies, localStorage, IndexedDB, CacheStorage and file storage, per-site or everywhere, with the shortcut, auto-reload and the summary card. Does it work on chrome:// pages or the New Tab page? No. Chrome doesn't let extensions run there. Open a website and clear from that tab. 💡 Good to know for developers Chrome keeps one set of cookies per host, shared by every port. Clearing cookies on localhost:3000 also clears them for localhost:5173, and CacheSweeper tells you when that happens. All other storage stays separate per port. 🌐 Website: https://cachesweeper.com 🛟 Support: https://cachesweeper.com/support 📄 Privacy policy: https://cachesweeper.com/privacy
