Payload Lens — JSON Workspace

Inspect, redact, format, and diff JSON locally in Chrome. Raw payloads are never persisted by the extension.

Payload Lens gives you a private workspace for JSON you already have. Open the toolbar on a JSON document and choose **Inspect JSON in this tab**, or paste JSON directly into the workspace. Payload Lens validates the input locally, formats it, shows tree structure, reports node/depth/size statistics, and lets you copy JSONPath references. ### Work with sensitive payloads more carefully - Add local redaction field names such as `token`, `password`, or `access_token`. - Apply those keys to the visible and copied formatted result. - Compare two JSON payloads locally and inspect added, removed, and changed paths. - Clear stored redaction keys at any time. Raw JSON is never written to Chrome extension storage. It remains only in the open popup or workspace and disappears when that page is closed or reloaded. ### Focused, local-only design - No account, analytics, telemetry, advertising, or backend - No remote code or product-controlled network request - No page URL, browsing history, or raw payload retention - 2 MB JSON input cap to keep local parsing responsive - Manual paste remains available when an active page is not a JSON document ### Important limits Payload Lens is not a network inspector, API client, secret vault, schema validator, or production log store. It does not fetch URLs, read your clipboard, bypass authentication, or guarantee that a field name catches every sensitive value. Review the result before copying or sharing it.
