Overview

Save downloaded files into a folder structure that mirrors the target URL path (hostname + directories).

Download any file while keeping the original URL folder structure. PathSaver saves a download into a folder tree that mirrors the URL it came from — the hostname becomes the top-level folder, and every path segment becomes a subfolder. https://cdn.example.com/assets/js/app.min.js is saved as: cdn.example.com/assets/js/app.min.js No more "everything lands flat in Downloads". No more "file (3).zip". No more manually rebuilding a folder tree after the fact. WHEN THIS IS USEFUL • Grabbing a whole set of site assets (images, fonts, JS bundles) and keeping them in the original layout, so relative imports still work. • Archiving a documentation folder or a course with many sub-pages. • Backing up a CDN directory listing without hand-assembling the structure. • Working with exports and datasets that arrive as hundreds of individual URLs. TWO WAYS TO DOWNLOAD 1. Right-click any link, image, audio file or video on a page and choose "Download this link by original path structure". You can also select a link's text and right-click it. 2. Click the toolbar icon, paste one or more URLs (one URL per line for batch download), watch the live preview of the save path, then press "Start download". BATCH DOWNLOAD Paste as many URLs as you like, one per line. PathSaver submits them all in one go and reports how many downloads were started and how many failed, so a 200-file job takes one paste instead of 200 clicks. OPTIONS • Include domain folder — put the hostname as the first folder level, or drop it and keep only the path. • Decode URL encoding — turn %E4%B8%AD back into 中, so non-ASCII filenames stay readable. • Merge query params into filename — append ?style=dark to the name (app__style=dark.js) instead of silently dropping the query string. • Duplicate file — auto-rename with (1), (2) suffixes, or overwrite the existing file. SAFE PATHS ON EVERY PLATFORM Every segment is sanitized before it reaches your disk: • Illegal Windows characters (\ / : * ? " < > |) are replaced with an underscore. • Reserved device names (CON, PRN, AUX, NUL, COM1-9, LPT1-9) are prefixed with an underscore. • Trailing dots and spaces are stripped, because Windows silently truncates them. • "." and ".." segments are dropped, so a crafted URL can never escape your Downloads folder. • Total path length is capped; the file name is shortened first and the extension is always preserved. DESIGNED FOR CLEAN DOWNLOADS PathSaver calls the Chrome downloads API with saveAs explicitly set to false, so files land straight in your default download directory with no "Save as" dialog. The "Save as" prompt appears only if you have turned on Chrome's global "Ask where to save each file before downloading" setting, which no extension can override. MULTI-LANGUAGE The interface follows your browser language and ships with English, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, French, Italian and German. PRIVACY PathSaver does not collect, store or transmit any personal data. It has no accounts, no analytics and no server-side component. URLs are processed entirely inside your browser and handed straight to Chrome's own download engine. FREE AND OPEN SOURCE Released under the MIT License. The full source code is publicly available.
