When you paste into a supported chat composer, PasteGuard scans the pasted text locally in your browser. If it detects a likely secret, it can: - warn and ask what to do - mask the secret and continue pasting - block the paste completely Detected patterns include: - API keys - access tokens - bearer tokens - JWTs - private key blocks - database connection strings - sensitive .env-style assignments PasteGuard works locally in Chrome only.
