PasteCheck
Overview
Checks copied text before you paste. Lightweight local lens for risky commands, configs, and workflow snippets.
PasteCheck helps you check copied or selected text before trusting it. It looks for snippets that may change your machine, repo, browser, workflow, or project in ways that are easy to miss. PasteCheck can check Unix shell, PowerShell, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, package scripts, Chrome extension manifests, Office macros, and bounded page-layout oddities. It is useful when copying commands or config from tutorials, READMEs, docs, chats, issue comments, setup guides, extension examples, workflow snippets, or package install instructions. PasteCheck gives you a quick local report before the copied text becomes action. Everything runs locally. PasteCheck does not run commands, require an account, use telemetry, use AI calls, or send checked text to a backend. How it works: 1. Copy text, select text, or choose Page layout. 2. Click PasteCheck. 3. Review the local report. 4. Continue only if you trust what you checked. PasteCheck is intentionally calm and practical: a small local check for copied text, not a cloud security platform.
