Paste Shield (beta) protects your sensitive information when pasting into websites. It acts as a privacy layer: when you paste clipboard text into input fields like ChatGPT, Notion, Slack, and other platforms, Paste Shield automatically detects and redacts sensitive data, such as emails, credit card numbers, IP addresses, SSN, etc, replacing them with placeholders like "[REDACTED]". How it works: Paste Shield intercepts paste events directly in your browser, with your permission. It applies redaction rules before pasting the text. All sanitization happens locally on your computer. Your clipboard content is never sent to any server. Customization: Users control the redaction behavior through a simple JSON configuration file. You can customize the extension by: • Defining which sites should activate the extension • Choosing if the extension should automatically redact content or just show a warning • Specifying which kind of data should be redacted (IP addresses, emails, SSN, etc) Who should use it: • Professionals using AI tools • Employees sharing data across work platforms • Anyone who wants extra protection for sensitive information.
