Overview

Passpack secure password management extension

Passpack Password Manager — Sign in once. Auto-fill everywhere. The official Passpack browser extension is the fastest way to use your Passpack vault while you browse. Sign in to Passpack from the toolbar, and your saved credentials are right where you need them — auto-filled into login forms, copied with a click, and ready to capture the next time you create an account. Passpack is a zero-knowledge password manager built for individuals, families, and teams who take security seriously. Your vault is encrypted on your device with keys derived from your Packing Key. Passpack's servers never see your master password, your Packing Key, or the contents of your records. ============================== WHAT THE EXTENSION DOES • Auto-fill on any site — Passpack detects login forms and offers to fill the matching credential. Multiple logins for the same site? Pick the right one from an inline dropdown. • One-click capture — Sign in to a new site and Passpack offers to save the credential to your vault. Edit the entry, choose a label, then store it without leaving the page. • Open your vault from the toolbar — Search, browse, and copy any credential from the popup. Your full vault — passwords, labels, teams, shared vaults — is always one click away. • Keyboard-first navigation — Tab, Enter, Space, and Escape work everywhere. Accessibility and power-users both come first. • Pause when you need to — Temporarily disable the inline UI from the toolbar without signing out. A small badge reminds you when autofill is paused. • Stay in sync — The extension keeps your encrypted vault in sync with passpack.com using an efficient status feed, so changes you make on the web or another device show up here automatically. ============================== SECURITY & PRIVACY • Zero-knowledge encryption — Every record is encrypted on your device before it leaves the browser. Passpack cannot read your stored credentials, and neither can anyone who intercepts traffic in transit. • AES + RSA crypto — Industry-standard symmetric and asymmetric encryption, executed in dedicated Web Workers so your browser stays responsive. • Local-only browsing — The extension reads URLs and form structure on the page to decide whether autofill should be offered. That processing happens entirely on your device. Page content, URLs, and browsing history are never sent to Passpack or any third party. • Encrypted local cache — Your vault is cached in the browser's local IndexedDB in encrypted form. Without your Packing Key, the cache is unreadable. Uninstalling the extension clears it completely. • Short-lived sessions — Authentication state lives in session storage and is cleared when you sign out or close the browser. • MFA & biometric support — Multi-factor authentication and biometric unlock are supported on accounts that have them enabled. • Single sign-on — Sign in with Google or Microsoft if your Passpack account is linked to an identity provider. Only the identity attributes needed to authenticate you are received. ============================== DESIGNED FOR TEAMS Passpack has been used by businesses to share credentials safely for over fifteen years. The extension respects everything your Passpack account offers: • Shared vaults and per-record sharing • Teams, roles, and permissions • Audit logs and access logs — record-access events are written to your account history so admins always know who used what ============================== HOW IT WORKS 1. Install the extension and pin it to your toolbar. 2. Click the icon and sign in with your Passpack email and password — or with Google or Microsoft SSO. 3. Enter your Packing Key when prompted. The extension never stores or transmits it. 4. Browse the web. Passpack will offer to fill saved credentials, capture new ones, and keep your vault in sync. You'll need an active Passpack account. If you don't have one yet, you can sign up at passpack.com. ============================== PERMISSIONS — WHY WE NEED THEM We ask for the minimum permissions required to make a password manager work, and we use them only for that purpose: • storage — Cache your encrypted vault locally so the extension works fast and offline-friendly. • tabs / activeTab — Identify the site you're on so we can match the right credential. • identity — Complete OAuth sign-in with Google or Microsoft. • alarms — Schedule background sync of your encrypted vault. • cookies (passpack.com) — Maintain your authenticated session with Passpack. Used solely for sign-in; never used to track you across other sites. • Host permissions for :///* — Required so login forms can be detected on the websites you choose to visit. The extension does not read or transmit page content, URLs, or browsing history. ============================== PRIVACY Passpack does not sell user data. We do not use or transfer user data for purposes unrelated to providing access to your Passpack vault. We do not use data to determine creditworthiness or for lending. Read the full privacy policy at https://www.passpack.com/privacy-policy. ============================== SUPPORT Need help, want to report an issue, or have a feature request? Reach our support team at https://support.passpack.com — we read every message. ============================== ABOUT PASSPACK Passpack has been helping people and teams manage shared credentials securely since 2006. Zero-knowledge by design, audited by independent security researchers, and trusted by businesses around the world. Install Passpack and start filling in seconds.
