The plant is a vine with a slender stem and tendrils to cling to the trellis. The leaves are dark green, glossy, and have slightly serrated edges. On the trellis are many green, round, smooth-skinned passion fruits. When ripe, the fruit turns purple or yellow, containing many small black seeds wrapped in a layer of orange-yellow flesh, with a sweet and sour taste. The red soil and rows of plants depict a passion fruit garden in the fruiting season.
