Overview

Values-based YouTube guardrails for families — AI checks every video against your rules.

Every family has rules. YouTube has never known a single one of them. Write yours in plain English — "no dangerous stunts," "science is always OK, even above age level," "nothing that mocks people" — and before a video plays, AI weighs its title, channel, and description against YOUR words, the way you would if you glanced at the page yourself. Every video, every time. Not an age rating. Not a keyword list that breaks on the first typo. Not someone else's idea of appropriate. SET UP IN 3 MINUTES 1. Sign in with Google and pick a starting style — Screen-anxious, Faith-based, STEM-curious, Montessori — or write your own from scratch. Everything stays editable forever. 2. Install this extension on your child's Chrome. Link it with a 6-character code. 3. That's it. Every video on that device is checked before it plays. WHAT THIS COVERS ParentalView works in Chrome on a computer or Chromebook, on each device you link. Chrome on phones and tablets can't run extensions, so it can't reach the YouTube app or another browser. If most of your child's YouTube happens on a tablet, this won't cover it. We'd rather you knew that before you install. BLOCKS THAT END ARGUMENTS INSTEAD OF STARTING THEM Most blockers give a kid a wall and no reason. That teaches them to find a way around it. ParentalView shows the house rule it matched — in your words, not ours — and a real explanation of what was in the video. Your child taps "Ask a Parent," and the request lands in your dashboard with the thumbnail, the video, and the reason it was blocked. One tap approves or declines. Fights turn into requests. When a rule catches something, the alert quotes that rule back to you in your own words. And when we genuinely can't tell what a video is, we say so instead of inventing a reason. NOT A KEYWORD FILTER Keyword blockers miss anything spelled differently and block anything spelled the same. ParentalView reads what the video is actually about — its title, channel, and description — and weighs the whole thing against your rules, the way a person would. You can also set how it behaves when a video is borderline: Gentle, Balanced, or Strict. WHAT WE SEE — AND NEVER SEE • Sees: which YouTube videos are opened on linked browsers, checked against your rules. That is the entire job. • Never: browsing outside YouTube, your child's name or account, cameras, microphones, messages. • Never sold. No ads. No trackers. You pay us, so you are the customer — not the product. Full plain-language breakdown: parentalview.fly.dev/trust.html ALSO WORKS WITHOUT A CHILD IN THE HOUSE • Guard your own attention — block rage-bait, drama, and doomscroll fuel on your own browser. • Protect an aging parent from get-rich-quick pitches, crypto hype, and miracle cures. PRICING • Free — one device, the complete rules engine. Unlimited custom rules, all concern categories, the strictness dial, alerts, and Ask a Parent. Not a trial. Not crippled. • Pro, $6.99/month — for households with more than one device to cover. Free stays free. The only card the free plan ever asks about is a one-time 50c under-13 check, described below. Cancel any time, in two clicks, no phone call and no guilt trip. BUILT FOR FAMILIES • The parent holds the account. Children never create one, and never enter an email. • For a child under 13, US law requires us to verify that a real adult approved this before we start collecting anything from that child's device. We do it the way the FTC recommends: a 50c card check, refunded right away, once, at the moment you link that device. It is not a subscription and it is not a trial. For a teen 14 or older, or for your own browser, no card is involved at all. • Delete your account and every byte of data attached to it, any time, from Settings.
