Parallel Bookmarks View
Overview
Display bookmark bar items in adaptive columns for faster browsing and search.
Turn your Chrome bookmark bar into a clean multi-column panel. Parallel Bookmarks View is made for people who keep many saved sites on the Chrome bookmark bar. Click the extension icon and a right-aligned panel opens in the upper-right corner of the current page, so you can find sites faster without scrolling through Chrome's native overflow menu again and again. The extension runs locally in your browser. It does not upload your bookmarks, search text, theme preference, or icon cache to any server, and it does not include ads, tracking scripts, remote code, or third-party analytics. All bookmark reading, sorting, editing, and deleting happens inside your local Chrome browser. Core features: - Multi-column bookmark bar view that automatically adds columns only when needed. - Folder hover flyouts: move the pointer over a folder to open its contents to the right, with nested folders continuing as cascading menus. - Fast local search by bookmark title, URL, and folder path. - Current-tab opening that matches Chrome's native bookmark behavior. - Website favicons with local icon caching to reduce repeated loading and flicker. - Manual favicon refresh for bookmark bar items and bookmarks inside folders. - Right-click bookmark management: open, edit, copy URL, refresh icon, or delete. - Drag sorting within the same bookmark level; the new order is saved to your real Chrome bookmarks. - Four visual themes: Original, Cool, Cute, and Fresh. - English and Chinese interface. - Standalone fallback window for restricted pages such as Chrome internal pages. Important note: This extension manages your real Chrome bookmarks. When you delete a bookmark or drag-sort bookmarks inside the extension, the change is applied to the matching bookmark in Chrome. Why permissions are needed: - `bookmarks`: Required to read the bookmark bar for multi-column display, search, folder navigation, drag sorting, editing, and deleting. Bookmark data is not uploaded. - `favicon`: Used to show website icons through Chrome's local favicon system. No external favicon service is used. - `activeTab` and `scripting`: Used only after you click the extension icon, so the bookmark panel can be shown on the current page. The extension does not request broad host permissions such as `<all_urls>`. - `storage`: Used locally to save theme preference and favicon cache data.
