Overview

Enhance PubMed and major scholarly pages with AI search and reading insights, journal metrics, full-text links, export, and Zotero.

PaperLens is a research workflow extension built to make PubMed and other scholarly websites faster to search, read, screen, and manage. On PubMed, PaperLens enhances the literature search workflow with AI-assisted query optimization, result analysis, smart filtering, abstract previews, citation and related-paper views, journal metrics, full-text links, and export tools. It helps researchers turn a research topic into a more structured PubMed search strategy, then evaluate results without repeatedly switching between different databases and tools. PaperLens also works across major scholarly pages, and selected publisher pages. When article metadata can be detected, PaperLens adds useful research signals directly on the page, including journal metrics, quartiles, citation information, open-access and full-text links, save actions, export actions, and Zotero integration. Key features include: - PubMed AI query enhancement for building better search strategies - AI reading support for article interpretation and selected-text understanding - Journal metrics such as Impact Factor, JCR quartile, SJR, H-index, and related journal indicators where available - Open-access and full-text link discovery - Save papers into a local or synced research library - Export records in formats such as RIS, BibTeX, MEDLINE, NBIB, CSV, and other supported formats - Zotero integration for sending selected paper records to a local Zotero connector - Support for user-configured AI providers, including OpenAI-compatible or Anthropic-compatible endpoints PaperLens is useful for researchers, clinicians, students, librarians, and knowledge workers who read large numbers of papers and need a faster way to screen literature, understand article relevance, collect references, and move records into their research workflow. Most page enhancement runs directly in the browser. Online features such as account sync, AI assistance, entitlement checks, and selected metadata lookups communicate with PaperLens services or user-configured services only when needed for the requested feature. PaperLens does not sell user data and does not serve ads.
